Henry Mountains Buffalo Hunting

Last week I was guiding a buffalo hunter from Michigan on the Henry Mountains. We were fortunate enough to find this big old bull in a mean nasty hole, and then stupid enough to shoot him. It was really stupid leaving them big black horses home, as we had to backpack the whole thing out. It was brutal but worth it, we measured him and he should score high enough to be in the top 15-18 in Boone and Crockett. It was a way good time.

Carving Pumpkins

Jake cleaning his pumpkin out. Boy carving pumpkins is a HUGE mess, now I know why my mom hated carving pumpkins.

JaKelle cleaning out her pumpkin she didn't know what to think of the slimmey insides. They were frozen inside because it has been so cold outside.

Jarrett and Jake watching Landon cut the faces into their pumpkins.

"Pumpkin Patch"

Last Sunday after church we took the kids to the "Pumpkin Patch" to pick them out a pumpkin for Halloween. What a challenge going through all the pumpkins in the field to find the one that was just right for each kid. They would find one and then decide that they liked another one better. This is the first year we have ever went to a field of pumpkins and let them pick out their own and it was alot of fun. Jarrett was a great helper being the oldest and all he knew exactly what to do and which one was best. They were also really excited to see the little bails of straw that came off of their Grandpa Perry's field so of course we had to get a couple of them also to put in the front yard. It was perfect fall weather to be outside and playing around.
